In 2010 I took part in TIFF’s Talent Lab. An incredible experience. At the end of the lab, participants were given a low-fi camera and asked to make a film on the subject of “family”.

My main take away from the lab was how important it is to do honest work. I embraced the low-camera technology and worked deliberately rough and fast to create an intimate, candid and loving portrait of my grandparents as they reminisce, ruminate and kvetch.
